Iran's non-participation in the quadrilateral informal meeting of the Caspian littoral countries' presidents, which is scheduled for Sept.11, is a warning to Iran, said Hishmatullah Felahet Pishe, Member of the Iranian Parliamentary Commission on National Security and Foreign Policy, Mehr news agency reported.
Iran must lodge a complaint with the international court against these four countries, Pishe said.

Pishe also added that due to the common interest, Russia, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan want to adopt a decision on the Caspian Sea without Iran's participation.

"Iran would respond severely to any decision taken by the four states concerning the Caspian Sea, because at the moment all resources of the Caspian Sea belong to all five littoral countries, including Iran. So any decision regarding the Caspian Sea should be taken jointly," Pishe said.

Under the contracts, signed in 1921 and 1940, Iran can lodge a complaint with international organizations against the four countries.

In addition, under the contracts, Iran must participate in all meetings concerning the discussions on the Caspian Sea.

Pishe said if these countries isolate Iran from taking any decision on energy and geopolitical issues of the Caspian Sea, they will oppose the Iranian interests.

The Presidents of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkmenistan will discuss the energy issues and cross-border cooperation, as well as the Caspian Sea-related issues at the Aktau informal meeting on Sept.11-13.
