Azerbaijani justice ministry offers to grant status of public officer to members of election commissions

The Central Election Commission (CEC) continues the training for constituencies.
CEC secretary Natig Mammadov made a report “Local self-administration – rules of municipal elections, counting and publishing votes” on Tuesday.

He said the election commissions were improving their activity year-by-year and winning voters’ confidence.

Mammadov said the elections were controlled by local and international observers.

“The most important issue for the election officials is to win voters’ confidence”. He gave instructions to local election officials about preparations and tasks of the election commissions.

Deputy Chief of the Justice Ministry’s Center for Municipalities Fazil Mammadov made a report on “Election Legal System and Legal Relations”.

He said the election commissions undertook main tasks during the elections. He emphasized importance to address the issue of status of local election officials.

“Members of the election commissions are implementing election policy of the government. I think there is a need to address the issue of granting status of public officer to members of the election commissions”.
