Azerbaijani MP comments on country's military doctrine

"When the bill is ready, it will be submitted to parliament, signed by the President as a legislative initiative for discussion. After adoption, this paper will become Azerbaijan's long-term military program," Deputy Chairman of the Azerbaijani Parliamentary Committee on Security and Defense Affairs Aydin Mirzazade said.

Azerbaijani Parliament is expected to adopt the Military Doctrine in its autumn session.

Mirzazade said both Azerbaijan's experience and international experience is taken into account when developing the Military Doctrine.

He said this is a serious paper, the bill is undergoing serious work in order to prevent its amendment in future. "As for amending the military legislative papers, we will define that after submitting the bill of the Military Doctrine to parliament," Mirzazade said.
