Azerbaijan Central Election Commission launches preparations for municipal elections

"The CEC adopted 19 normative papers on municipal elections, nine of which are new. CEC improved regulatory framework for the elections," the CEC Secretary Natig Mammadov said.

From 7 September, the CEC will begin trainings for the members of the lower election commissions, said CEC deputy chairman of Svetlana Gasimova.

"The first trainings will be organized during a week in Baku, which will be attended by representatives of 125 constituencies. Thematic plan and schedule have been completed. These trainings will be different from previous trainings in terms of content," she said.

The trainings will be attended by representatives of state institutions such as the Constitutional Court, parliament, Presidential Administration, Ministry of Justice, Interior Ministry and Prosecutor General's Office and others.
