Ukrainian president sends another message to Russian counterpart

"Surely, it is very important to have active Ukraine-Russia relations. This is in line with national interests. As President, I would like to tell frankly that Ukraine has never formulated any negative strategy of Ukraine-Russia negotiations," he said.

Speaking about the importance of work of the Ukraine-Russian commission at top level, Yushchenko reminded that during the last meeting with his Russian counterpart he had proposed that the commission's committees held relevant talks in 2009, elaborated 'professional sectorial documents' , which then should become a subject to negotiations at top level. Unfortunately, he noted, a major part of the commissions has so far held no meeting.
