19 August 2009 [08:59] - TODAY.AZ
A business forum is expected to be held within the expected visit of Chairman of the Senate of the Czech Republic Premysl Sobotka to Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani ambassador to the Czech Republic Tahir Tagizade said.
"We plan to hold the second Azerbaijani-Czech business forum," Tagizade said.

Chairman of the Senate Sobotka is expected to visit Baku on September 23 on the eve of the opening of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Azerbaijan. The Embassy will be opened in October.

The first Azerbaijani-Czech business forum was held in July last year during the visit of the Foreign Minister of the Czech Republic Karel Schwarzenberg to Azerbaijan.

The ambassador said Sobotka will meet with Speaker of Azerbaijan Parliament Ogtay Asadov, also with the Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov.

During his stay in Baku, Sobotka is expected to visit Baku Slavic University, meet with students, as well as see a concert within the days of culture of the Czech Republic in Azerbaijan, Taghizade said.

After opening the embassy of the Czech Republic in October, the consular department will be opened in January next year, the ambassador said.

"From January, all will be able to obtain a visa," he said.

Making a speech in Prague in May on the occasion of Republic Day, Sobotka noted the importance of partnership between Azerbaijan and the Czech Republic.

"Relations between the Czech Republic and Azerbaijan are of strategic partnership. Azerbaijan is of great importance for the Czech Republic," he said.
