It is inappropriate to give advise to independent states: Azerbaijani MP

18 August 2009 [14:21] - TODAY.AZ
“I think it is inappropriate to advise independent states how to live and to build domestic and foreign policy,” Azerbaijani member of parliament Aydin Mirzazade said commenting in Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s statement.
In a recent statement Iranian president Ahmadinejad criticized neighbor states for cooperating with the “Zionist regime”, Fars news agency reported.

“We are sorry for those of our neighbors which serve Zionists and provide a means for Israel's domination over the world,” Fars news quoted Iranian president as saying.

“Azerbaijan is an independent state which does not need anyone's advice. It builds its policy on the basis of national interests. Today, all nations of the world are friendly with Azerbaijan. Only Armenia is the exception because of Armenia's occupation of Azerbaijan’s territories,” Mirzazade said.

“I think as Azerbaijan does not interfere in the internal affairs of other countries, it will not allow others to interfere in its domestic policy, too. Today, the Azerbaijani leadership chooses the best path for further development and prosperity of the state based on the interests of its people,” he said.
