Rules of mechanism of treatment towards human trafficking victims confirmed in Azerbaijan

The rules were confirmed in accordance with the National Action Plan to Combat Human Trafficking for 2009-2013.

The primary aim of mechanism of national direction is to protect the victims’ rights, provide safety of delivery of them to authorized bodies, repatriations, create a rational system, providing their social rehabilitation and forming rules in this sphere.

In order to implement mechanism of national direction a joint committee is being established. The committee included  the representatives of ministry of internal affairs, national security,  education, public health, justice, foreign affairs, labor and social protection, youth and sport, culture and tourism ministries as well as the General Prosecutor’s Office, the State Customs Committee, the Committee for of Family, Women and Children Affairs, Border and Migration Services.

The commission holds a meeting annually to discuss forthcoming tasks.
The victims of trafficking possess a right to get free medical, psychological help and a right to receive indemnification.
