Karabakh Liberation Organization protests against Matthew Bryza

12 August 2009 [09:37] - TODAY.AZ
The actions of the Minsk Group, in particular, that of U.S. co-chair Matthew Bryza, contradicts Azerbaijan’s interests, the Karabakh Liberation Organization said in a statement.
The statement said deploying peacekeeping force in the region and any form of consent to hold a referendum means a complete loss of hope for the return of the occupied territories of Azerbaijan.

“Recognition of temporary status of Nagorno-Karabakh would allow Armenia to rule this area for decades,” the statement said.

The organization believes the peacekeeping troops once deployed in Karabakh will serve to protect the separatist regime.

The organizations argues the negotiations based on the Madrid principles are not in the interests of Azerbaijan. The organization calls on the Azerbaijani government to make clear the statements by the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group.

The organization says some organizations and politicians promotes the negotiation on the basis of the Madrid principles upon the order of overseas centers and urge to stop the propaganda.
