Women must be more involved with municipalities in Azerbaijan: MP

11 August 2009 [15:19] - TODAY.AZ
“The number of women involved with municipalities must be increased,” Azerbaijani member of parliament Ganira Pashayeva said at a meeting with participants of the Summer University for Young Leaders organized by "Ireli" public organization.
“Unfortunately, women make up only 4 percent of municipality workers. Women must get more involved with municipalities specifically in the regions. Women make up part of Azerbaijan’s population. So, their number of women in municipalities must be increased. Women are less involved with them in the regions,” she said.

Summer University for Young Leaders opened in Gazakh region of Azerbaijan today.

As a part of the project, more than 100 youth leaders will be taught rhetoric and public speaking skills, leadership, business etiquette, drafting and project management, human rights, device networking, Internet technologies, as well as lectures on the history of Azerbaijan in XX century.
