Tehran will disclose all "games" of West: Iranian MP

11 August 2009 [09:48] - TODAY.AZ
We have sufficient evidences, documents and facts to sue and arrest Moussavi and other reformist leaders, Vice President of the Security Commission of Iranian Parliament Ismail Kovsheri said.
Kovsheri said the available documents and evidences about those who led the riots "will be presented to the court when this will be decided by the Iranian government."

In a protest demonstrations against outcome of presidential elections that took place on June 12, opposition leaders Mehdi Karroubi and Mir Hossein Mousavi demanded repeat presidential elections. As a result of demonstrations, more than 1,200 people were arrested and 30 people killed, according to official data.

Kovsheri said Tehran is completely aware of Western countries' role in the riots and relationship with the opposition leaders. "The plan, prepared by the West for Iran under the title of human rights, democracy and other, is now clear," Kovsheri told by telephone from Tehran.

The second trial against people, arrested during disorders after the presidential elections in Iran, was launched in the city court of Tehran on August 8. Arrested people are accused of assisting terror groups, placing of explosive devices, transportation of fire-arms, bombs, premeditated attack on police officers and volunteers, attack on universities and police stations, sending demonstration's photos to foreign media, robbery, violation of order, causing damage to public property.

Frenchwoman Rize and employee of the French Embassy in Tehran, Ms. Dook Afshar reportedly also were amongst people accused during court trial.

Kovsheri said that those arrested admitted that they received orders from the West. West itself knows this and tries to justify itself with the help of various kinds of pretexts and statements.

On Saturday, an analyst at the British Embassy in Tehran Hussein Ressam admitted the accusations against him in court, but some observers consider that the recognition was obtained by "pressure, threats and torture". British Foreign Ministry called the trial on Ressam "insult" and demanded to free him.

On August 9, the European Union made a statement that the arrest of the employee of the British embassy is a step taken not only against London, but also against the whole European Union.

Kovsheri believes the West prepared "factors of coup" inside Iran and intervenes in the internal affairs of the country in all possible ways. Tehran will reveal all "games" of the West and international community, and will itself make conclusions based on the facts," said Kovsheri.

He said Tehran will re-consider its political, diplomatic and economic relations with the West and if necessary, relations with the West will be limited.

French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner said that the doors of the French embassy in Tehran were open to all who looked for asylum during the actions. Calling it a step of "French democracy", he did not consider it interference in the internal affairs of Iran.

On August 10, the head of Mousavi's pre-election campaign Gurban Behzadiyannezhad rejected the relationship of the campaign with any foreign force.
