The NATO Web site contains a gross mistake related to Azerbaijan.
While break-away regions of Georgia and Moldova are not indicated on
NATO overview, one can clearly see via zoom administrative borders of Nagorno-Karabakh region of Azerbaijan as being marked as in case of other states.
Even the boundaries of NATO-created Kosovo is not indicated on the map despite the military operation the Alliance conducted in 1999 against Belgrade to withdraw the province from control of Serbian central government and the recognition of the self-proclaimed state by many countries including NATO member states.
It also raises questions how this map meets recent statements by the Alliance on the recognition of Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity.
We urge NATO to correct the disappointing mistake.
