Azerbaijani parliament to discuss new bill on political parties

As the items of the law “On Political Parties” don’t comply with the clauses of Constitution, the Election Code and other legislative acts, parliamentarians of Azerbaijan legislative body (Milli Majlis) have prepared a bill to eliminate this shortage.
The Draft is to include registration of political parties, financing them, their activity, participation in elections, their role in society, international cooperation, etc.

The new bill will, according to Siyavush Novruzov, deputy of the executive secretary of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party (YAP), provide transparency in financing of political parties either.
