Azerbaijani MP commented on Turkey-Russia rapprochement

Azerbaijani MP Mubariz Gurbanli believes the Russian-Turkish rapprochement will impact positively the peaceable solution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Turkey and Russia closely cooperate in settlement of international issues. The Russia-Turkish rapprochement will impact positively peaceable solution of conflicts in the South Caucasus, including Nagorno-Karabakh. The expansion of the Russian-Turkish relations serve as ground to peace and stability on the South Caucasus and Middle East, ruling New Azerbaijan Party official  Mubariz Gurbanli said.

During his visit to Turkey Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said active work is underway to resolve [Armenia-Azerbaijan] Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Turkish Anadolu news agency reported.

"Serious work is being done to settle the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and there is serious progress in this regard. Moscow is eager to see rapid resolution of the conflict," Putin added.

Putin said his country is unwilling to see any conflict in the Caucasus. "Conflict in the Caucasus casts shadow on our relations with the countries of the region," he stressed.

Over the past few years the Russian-Turkish bilateral relations have developed rapidly and they impact different spheres. It is evident that economy is the main subject in the Russian-Turkish relations. At present, the many Turkish companies participate in realization of significant projects in Russia, Gurbanli said.
