Informal CSTO summit opens in Kyrgyzstan

The informal summit of heads of States of the Collective Security Treaty Organization member states opened at the resort located on the shores of Lake Issyk-Kul in Kyrgyz city of Cholpon-Ata on July 31.
The participants of the meeting will hear a report by Secretary General Nikolai Bordyuzha on approaches and practical measures to create a coordinated information policy of the CSTO member states, the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry said.

“In addition, the participants will exchange views on possible construction of a permanent sports base of the CSTO member states on the shore of Issyk-Kul.”

The Kyrgyz government said  the meeting will also focus on post-conflict settlement in Afghanistan.

The agenda of the informal summit includes also possible operation of  the collective rapid reaction forces of the CSTO in Kyrgyzstan.

Informal meeting of the Presidents of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan will continue till August 1.
