British BMI calls into question fact related to Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity – PHOTO

The letter says the www.flybmi.com map of air flights at http://www.flybmi.com/bmi/en-gb/flight-and-airport-info/destination-guides/asia-azerbaijan.aspx describes Azerbaijan’s territory separately from Nakhchivan.

Besides, Azerbaijan’s territory is also described as being part of Asia while Georgia and Armenia that of Europe although South Caucasus countries must be indicated on the same content.

It is noticeable that this is not the first case of this kind. So far, Wikipedia online encyclopedia, Mail.ru and Google have called into question Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity for various reasons.

Admittedly, the map on the BMI Web site is wrong and needs immediate correction.

We urge readers to let the administrator of the Web site to know about the mistake via http://www.flybmi.com/bmi/en-ie/contact-us/feedback.aspx, or dial 994 12 4970500 (Baku office) and 0870 126 6755 (head office in London).

On page (http://www.flybmi.com/bmi/en-gb/flight-and-airport-info/destination-guides/asia-azerbaijan.aspx), the administrative borders of the Nakhchivan region of Azerbaijan are wrongly marked in a format similar to state borders, creating an impression as if Nakhchivan is an independent territory.

The map posted by BMI represents a clear violation of international standards, in general, and Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity, in particular.

The BMI map indicates Armenia and Georgia as European, but Azerbaijan as an Asian country. The ?aucasus region should be indicated on the same continent. Azerbaijan’s enclave territory of Nackhchivan also has border with Turkey as Armenia.

I urge you to change the map published in your Web site, since it is completely incorrect and spreads the wrong information about Azerbaijan's internationally recognized territory.

Please replace the current (wrong) map.
