Azerbaijan’s opposition party negotiates to set up union

27 July 2009 [14:21] - TODAY.AZ
Muasir Musavat party is negotiating with other political parties in an effort to set up a single union, the party chairman Hafiz Hajiyev said.
He said talks are underway with the parties who still have credibility.

“It is early to say whether parties will set up a bloc or resume national resistance movement. It depends on outcome of talks and terms that the parties will put forward,” he said.

“We hope that a union will be set up within which parties will cooperate not only on Karabakh issue, but also on municipal and parliamentary elections,” Hajiyev said.

Hajiyev said the outcome of the talks will be available soon.
