Azerbaijan buys armament from Belarus

UN conventional weapons register has revealed deals by Belarus on world armament market in 2008.
Belarus did not buy armament and weapons described as “conventional weapons” last year, but sold armament to Azerbaijan, Syria, Sudan and Russia.

So, Belarus supplied three 2C7 self-propelled  Pion howitzers with size of 203 millimeters to Azerbaijan. Syria bought multi-target MMIG-23 fighters with changeable wing sweep. A total of 11 attack planes have been exported to Syria. Russia bought 15 “air-air” P27-P rockets for Su-27 and MIG-29 fighters. All afore-said armament have been produced by Russia (USSR).

According to the UN conventional weapons register, Belarus exported 41 T-72 tanks to Azerbaijan in 2006 and 19 T-72 tanks in 2005. Belarus also reported to export towed howitzers to Armenia in 2006.
