Azerbaijani opposition party considers chairman’s resignation

Azerbaijan National Salvation Party’s Political Council held the next meeting, party’s press service said.
The meeting focused on socio-political situation in the country and worldwide.

The party condemned te recent developments in Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region and expressed anxiety over repression against Uighurs. The party says Azerbaijan should boycott Chinese products as a protest against pressure on Turks.

The meeting also considered resignation of chairman Vugar Beyturan. Member of the Political Council Yusif Ali said party’s activists asked the chairman to keep his position. So, Beyturan will further act as party chairman.
