Even unification will not add to number of Azerbaijani opposition supporters: MP

“Opposition efforts aimed at unification prior to the municipal elections are their own business and we can not interfere with it,” Azerbaijani ruling New Azerbaijan Party Deputy Executive Secretary and member of parliament Mubariz Gurbanli said.
He said even if opposition unites, it will not add to the number of its supporters.

“The opposition enjoys only 5 percent of popular support irrespective of joint or separate action prior to the elections.”

“Nevertheless, we consider political parties to be our rivals. Our party is actively preparing for the municipal elections and is confident of success,” Gurbanli said.
