Azerbaijani opposition party attempts to rally in front of Chinese embassy

Azerbaijan’s opposition Musavat party attempted to rally in front of the Chinese embassy in Baku on July 14, party’s youth organization head Tural Abbasli said.
He said nearly 40 party activists attempted to stage a protest action.

“We could not submit a resolution to the embassy. The resolution covered concerns about repression against Uighurs in China,” Abbasli said.

Though some activists have been arrested, we believe that we could stage protest action as party expressed its views on recent events in China,” he said.
