Swedish FM to trip to S. Caucasus

A group of three includes representative of the country presiding over the EU, as well as representatives of previous and next chairmanship.  

Meetings are expected to be held with presidents and foreign ministers in three countries.

This trip will also include visit of EU supervising mission to Georgia. The agenda of the meeting of foreign ministers of the EU countries includes prolongation of its mandate in late July.  

South Caucasus is one of spheres of strategic importance for EU. Eastern Partnership program means new opportunities to make contribution to stability and reforms in three countries of the region, EU message said.

Bildt will be accompanied by representatives of the European Commission Karel Kovanda and John Kjaer, EU special envoy for the South Caucasus Peter Semneby and representative of secretariat of EU Council Paolo Barroso Simos. Spanish ambassador to Central Asia Santiago Chamorro will represent next country to be presided in EU.
