Latvia condemns violation of ecological safety in Nagorno-Karabakh by Armenia.
"Latvia regrets that environment is used to intensify inter-state relations. Any conflicts must be solved peacefully. Use of these means to solve any political goals is not encouraged, Latvia's minister of environment Raimonds Vejonis told media in Baku on June 25.

The conflict between the two South Caucasus countries began in 1988 when Armenia made territorial claims against Azerbaijan. Armenian armed forces occupied Nagorno-Karabakh and 7 districts surrounding Nagorno-Karabakh. The co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group - Russia, France, and the U.S. - are currently holding the peace negotiations.

Armenia pollutes trans-boundary rivers, set fire to fields in Azerbaijani occupied territories.
