"Eugenia Zhivkova's quitting position of PACE co-rapporteur on Azerbaijan has not been discussed", said Samed Seidov, member of parliament and head of Azerbaijani delegation in PACE commenting on the information that member of Bulgarian parliament Eugenia Zhivkova has recently said she will not nominate for new elections and thus will not be the PACE member.
"This issue was simply not raised. The issue may appear only when Zhivkova will officially say she is quitting", said she.
Notably, Zhivkova has been member of Bulgarian parliament from the Socialist party since 2001. She has recently said she will not nominate for new elections schedule for July 5, as the party has launched an "extremely unfair fight" for adding to the lists, Lenta.ru reported.
"If information is confirmed, the issue of the rapporteur replacement will be discussed in October at the PACE autumn session", concluded Seidov.
