Summer session of NATO International School in Azerbaijan begins in Baku

Summer session of NATO International School in Azerbaijan (NISA) has started in Baku, APA reports.
Local experts, representatives of military and security structures, various international organizations are attending the session on the theme “The role of civil society in crisis management”.

Lecturer of Izmir University Itir Bagdadi spoke about the present threats and said occupation of territories, displacement of people, military operations pave the way for crises.
“The solution of international security issues depends on joint efforts of the states,” he said.

Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Araz Azimov said the session would cover crisis management and sea security. Araz Azimov said Azerbaijan faced a number of problems as a result of Nagorno Karabakh conflict, such problems also influenced the neighboring countries.

Romanian ambassador to Azerbaijan Nikolae Ureku said Romania as a coordinating state supported Azerbaijan’s integration into Euro Atlantic structures and necessary activities were being carried out for this.

Crisis management, NATO’s role in crisis management, management mechanisms, sea security, energy and border security, combating international terrorism, social studies in crisis management will be discussed during the summer session of NISA.
