11 June 2009 [15:08] - TODAY.AZ
Iranian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mohammad Bagher Bahrami counts on active participation of the fellow citizens in Baku, on Friday in the upcoming presidential election in Iran.
According to Interfax-Azerbaijan, he said the necessary preparatory work for a democratic, free and transparent conduct of elections has been held.

"We have created conditions for voting by citizens of Iran residing in Azerbaijan. By presenting their passports, they will be able to take part in voting", said M. Bahrami.

He noted that 700 Iranian citizens residing in Azerbaijan voted during the previous elections.

"We expect the number of votes to be higher during these elections. Polling stations will open at eight o'clock in the morning. 10 hours have been set for voting but if necessary the voting might be prolonged. But I do not think this need will appear at all", said the ambassador.
