Vice-Speaker of Milli Mejlis: The issue of funding Azerbaijani parties will be resolved considering interests of all parties

"The bill  should include provisions that will ensure the interests of all parties. This takes time and it is necessary to take into account the existing realities, said vice speaker of Milli Medjlis Bahar Muradova

According to B. Muradova, in the near future the country's parliament is not planning to discuss amendments and alterations to the Law on "Political parties".

52 parties have been registered in Azerbaijan.  The Law "On Political Parties" was adopted in 1992. Financing of the parties from the state budget is envisioned after amendments are introduced.

This issue should be discussed both by Milli Majlis and the public, said chief of the public policy department of the Administration of President Ali Hasanov. In his view, the discussion in Parliament will find the most appropriate and optimal variant, which would meet modern requirements.

A. Hasanov said that funding from the state budget will take into account the nature of political parties and their economic interests.

The ruling party "Yeni Azerbaijan" is a supporter of the state budget financing of parties participating in elections or represented in Parliament. Politicians from opposition proposes to finance all the parties which have passed state registration.
