Milli Majlis adopted changes to the constitutional law of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman).

102 deputies voted for the amendments and 8 against.
Thus were lifted restrictions on the election of a person as an ombudsman for not more than once.
In Azerbaijan, according to the Constitution, the Ombudsman shall be elected for a term of seven years. Currently, Azerbaijan's Ombudsman is Elmira Suleymanova, whose term expires in June this year.
