Opening new building of the Zarifa Aliyeva Eye Diseases Research Institute in Baku on May 22 is one of the large successes with regards to medicine in Azerbaijan, the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said in the inauguration ceremony of the building, AzerTaj state news agency reported.

"This excellent, modern clinic medical facility will serve the people of Azerbaijan and I am confident that the work here will be implemented at the highest level," said Aliyev.

The construction of this institute was initiated by the National Leader Heydar Aliyev.

Azerbaijan has allocated funds for these purposes, the contractor company was defined.
In a short time Azerbaijan created perfect medical center meeting the highest world standards, the President said.

This institution does not exist in the Commonwealth of Independent States.

The area of the building is 40,000 square meters. It was supplied with the most modern equipment. This institute can carry out any operation.

On May 22, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev inaugurated new building of the Zarifa Aliyeva Scientific Research Institute of Eye Diseases, AzerTaj state news agency reported.

The president got familiar with the building's general layout. He was informed about the construction work. Later the president cut the red tape marking official opening. The president got familiar with the building in detail.

The president stood before the bust to academician Zarifa Aliyeva at the foyer, got familiar with the memory museum of five renowned ophthalmologists and walked round the institute.

President Ilham Aliyev addressed institute's personnel in the assembly hall.

The president spoke about social measures implemented in Azerbaijan including in the sphere of health care and congratulated institute's staff on opening of a new building.

President Ilham Aliyev also got familiar with portable clinical equipment.
