EU has not convinced us of the advantages of Eastern Partnership initiative, said Russian President Dmitry Medvedev speaking on the outcome of the EU-Russia summit, according to Vesti.

"We are disturbed with the fact that some states are trying to use this structure as a partnership against Russia", said Russian President at a joint press conference with the EU. The Russian leader stressed that he implies not the EU leadership but other countries.
"There are all sorts of examples. We have partnered with the North Atlantic bloc. But, in spite of the special form of relationship, testing of this relationship demonstrated the weakness of this form. And now the attempts to rebuild the relationship between NATO and Russia face a fairly significant complexity", said Dmitry Medvedev.
According to him, if the Eastern Partnership initiative becomes a project on "normal economic cooperation, and tthanks God, we will naturally have no objection, we wish that partnership is a success". "But still some moments are alarming for us", said the Russian President.
"As for the Eastern Partnership, the form of it is still unclear to us", said Dmitry Medvedev.
Just to remind, on 7 May in Prague the European Union held a summit of Eastern Partnership, which has formalized program of cooperation between the EU and a number of post-Soviet countries - Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine, Belarus.
The main purpose of Eastern Partnership is to create the necessary conditions for strengthening the political associations and future economic integration between the EU and the program member-states.
