Representative of presidential administration: The main direction in Azerbaijan's foreign policy is an intensive integration with European structures and institutions

Azerbaijan is intensively integrating with the European and Euro-Atlantic space, said Elnur Aslanov, chief of department of political analysis and information, during the "spring debates", organized by the Ireli public association.
"After 2000 Azerbaijan became a member of the Council of Europe, today we are represented in the Parliamentary Assembly of NATO and the OSCE. The main focus of the foreign policy of Azerbaijan is the full intense integration with European structures and institutions", he said.

According to him, in some areas Azerbaijan was developing more intensively than European countries.

"I am not trying to compare Azerbaijan with Europe. But I would like to say that Europe passed the stage of renaissance and enlight through 5 centuries, while Azerbaijan passed this way for 50 years from 1870's to 1920", noted A. Aslanov.
