Assistant NATO secretary general hopes for further successful cooperation of alliance with Azerbaijan

According to the press-service for the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan, the due statement was made Thursday during the bilateral meeting with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mamedyarov by assistant NATO secretary general Jean Francois Birou.

Birou, visiting Baku for participation in an international conference, dated to the 60th anniversary of NATO, Birou voiced satisfaction with the level of existing relations and cooperation between Azerbaijan and the alliance conducted in frames of Individual Partnership Actions Plan.

Mamedyarov, in turn, stressed the usefulness of cooperation between Azerbaijan and NATO. The Minister highly evaluated the adoption of a declaration supporting the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan at the summit on the 60th anniversary of NATO on April 6.

The sides also exchanged views on bilateral and regional issues.
