The people and state of Azerbaijan will never reconcile themselves with this occupation, the policy of ethnic cleansing: President of Azerbaijan

Head of the Azerbaijan State made speech at the meeting. President Aliyev spoke of the successful development and positive tendencies in country`s economy, its increasing reputation in region and world.

" Azerbaijan long-term development strategy is being implemented. All these things show that the path we have chosen is right and we have achieved great accomplishments on this path. Throughout the history, Azerbaijan has undergone difficult ordeals with honor and now, our country is developing successfully in terms of politics and economy," the President said.

"There is a very good socio-political situation in Azerbaijan. Over the years, there has been stability and peace in the country, and these factors are the major condition for development of every country including Azerbaijan," the Head of State noted.

"Protection of national interests is the main and the most important goal for us and our country has achieved great accomplishments in this direction. Possibilities of pursuing independent policy contribute much to all-round development of Azerbaijan. Making an independence decision in the issues connected with both the domestic and foreign policy, we maximally defend national interests of the people of Azerbaijan. This policy will be continued," President Aliyev pointed out.

"It is already known both in the region and the world that Azerbaijan is a reliable partner, which continues its independent policy. The policy of Azerbaijan is predictable and directed towards ensuring peace and security in the region," said Azerbaijani leader.
Speaking of the world economic crisis, President Aliyev said: "The foreign countries faced economic recession in the first quarter of 2009 while the economy of Azerbaijan kept growing"
In regard to the settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the President said: “We hope Armenia, at last, will take into consideration the realities and the conflict will find its fair solution. The people and state of Azerbaijan will never reconcile themselves with this occupation, the policy of ethnic cleansing. We have all rights to liberate our lands and the international law and resolutions of the authorized world organizations give reason for that.

In the meeting, the discussions also focused on current socio-political stability, dynamic economic development processes in country, settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, regional situation, neighborhood relations and other issues.
