06 April 2009 [09:53] - TODAY.AZ
"Resolution of the Armenian-Turkish relations should take place without any preliminary provisions and with this very understanding we have hold talks with the Turkish side", said Armenian FM Edward Nalbandyan, commenting on statements of a number of Turkish politicians that normalization of the Armenian-Turkish relations is not connected with the Karabakh problem and during the talks on normalization of the Armenian-Turkish relations this issue was never a subject of negotiations", said the Armenian Minister.

"It was repeatedly stated that I would like to note again that the resolution of the Armenian-Turkish relations does not challenge the fact of "Armenian genocide" in the Osman Turkey", added Nalbandyan.

He reminded that today tens of countries and international organizations recognized "Armenian genocide" and Armenia welcomed this recognition. "I think the statements on preliminary provisions on normalization of the Armenian-Turkish relations can be considered as an attempt to reduce to zero a progress, attained in talks", concluded the Armenian Foreign Minister.

The comment of the Armenian FM was provided by the press service for the Armenian Foreign Ministry.
