Anne Derse: "The United States are interested in development of relations with Azerbaijan"

"We support Azerbaijan's development as a strong regional leader and therefore we are closely cooperating with Baku for implementation of economic, energy and political reforms", said she.

The diplomat also stressed the close economic cooperation between the two states.

"Since the first days of Azerbaijan's gaining independence we have been in close cooperation in the implementation of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan and Baku-Tbilisi-Erzirum pipelines that ensured the brilliant future of your country", noted the ambassador.

According to Derse, in two years Azerbaijan might become a full member of the World Trade Organization. The ambassador also stressed the intention of the US party to open a commercial department in Azerbaijan which, she said, will promote the development of commercial ties.

Derse also voiced hope for the position solution of the issues, connected with restoration of broadcasting of foreign radio stations in Azerbaijan.
