"Azerbaijan should not speak of double standards", said head of Estonian delegation in PACE, co-rapporteur on Azerbaijan Andres Herkel, commenting on his interview to Azerbaijani mass medias, according to which Azerbaijan should not follow Armenia's example.

He said Azerbaijan is really West's ally
"Yet my statement implied that if Azerbaijan wants to be an ally not owing to its energy reserves but in the issues of democratic values then it is illogical to draw analogy with Armenia, which certainly has its problems and to speak of double standards following more positive examples for example Turkey", said Herkel adding that issues, connected with Armenia are not included into the circle of his direct activity.
"Merely the comparison of democracy of a number of states with Armenia, not in Armenia's favor, made by me, attracted a great attention from the Azerbaijani side", noted the head of the Estonian delegation in PACE.
