Azerbaijan National Independence Party to review issue of cooperation with "For Karabakh and Republic" movement

11 February 2009 [10:22] - TODAY.AZ
"Azerbaijan National Independence Party will review cooperation with the movement "For Karabakh and Republic" at the session of its political board, said spokesman for the party Ali Orucev.
He said the party received the next appeal from the movement and will consider it soon.

"The unification of opposition is possible but this requires preliminary talks. There are many questions on which the party may cooperate with the Musavat initiative group - Republicans with the parties, represented in the union "For democracy", the movement "For Karabakh and Republic".

Yet I think the idea of cooperation should be promoted in period of creation of the movement "For Karabakh and Republic" and not after it. We have repeatedly proposed this initiative. At the same time the political council of the party will make a decision and define the principles of cooperation of the parties", said he.

Notably, for participation in the referendum the Party founded a separate initiative group "Milli Istiglal".

The initiator of the creation of the civil movement "For Karabakh and Republic" was the Azadlyg bloc, comprising three parties - Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan, Liberal Party of Azerbaijan, Civil Development Party and the Public forum "For Azerbaijan". The Democratic Party of Azerbaijan, Umid and Musavat party as well as a number of NGOs also joined the initiative.
