The next session of the Democratic Party of Azerbaijan, led by Sardar Calaloghlu was held on Monday, according to the press service for the party.

The statement says that the session participants discussed the sociopolitical situation in the country.
Considering the influence of the global economic crisis on Azerbaijan, the session of the party calls to reduce salary to officials of the presidential administration, Milli Medjlis, law enforcement bodies and other people, occupying high positions.
The session is concerned with the fact that different proposals are voiced in connection with the resolution of the Karabakh problem. The party considers that if this problem is settled on the basis of the Madrid principles, Azerbaijan will be separated from Karabakh forever. This conflict cannot be settled on the basis of Madrid principles.
The party regrets that the US embassy does not provide an open opinion on holding a referendum due to the introduction of amendments to the Azerbaijani Constitution.
The session considers that the issues raised at the referendum contradict to the international law and freedom which has nothing to do with the internal affairs of the country.
