Quoting Oscar Wilde, or what our opposition implies by saying "democracy"

This quote is a clear reflection of the actions of local opposition, which proved once again that it has nothing to do with democracy.

Political adventurism

Let's first start with the news. According to Novosti-Azerbaijan, on January 12, leaders of opposition parties and public organizations of Azerbaijan, who gathered for a forum against the March referendum on January 12, decided to continue discussions in private. All journalists were driven out of the hall.

What can the local opposition, which has no real mechanisms of resisting to the said amendments, discuss in private?

First of all, due to the absence of a clear plan of actions, due to the repeatedly observed tactic and strategic illiteracy of opposition, proven by the fact that in conditions of existing great problems in Azerbaijani society, our opposition can not lead this protest electorate.

Second, because the opposition, which is not supported by the majority of the population, can not have a total pressure on powers.

Third, opposition, which is unable to resist powers, has recently demonstrated repeated inclinations towards trading with powers, which resulted in its zero rating. It is easy to note that in Azerbaijan population becomes active not for the reason of appearance of any brilliant, popular personality in the opposition, but in the result of definite actions of the working powers. This is very sad.

Unfortunately, again we have to recall the words of Kluchevski that Russia believed in socialism before it learned to understand and make conclusions: local opposition believed in its being democratic and in that it is the power that is able to ensure democratization of Azerbaijan before it understood what democracy is.

The actions of local opposition, which has again distanced from people for whom it works and suffers, make me sure that oppositionists mean the bludgeoning of the people by the people for the people by saying "democracy". But as is known, in reality democracy is not the method of catching up with the powers by the local opposition. Dear oppositionists, one of the main components of democracy is a freedom of speech, not the inclination towards conspiracy, behind which you try to conceal your helplessness.

The mistake of local opposition is obvious because it is openly ignoring the help of media, which remains almost the only power, able present opposition better than it is in the reality.

So, why should we be surprised at the zero influence of opposition, which distances itself from its natural allies? Yes, local opposition has nothing to lose except for its own opinion about its supremacy. But a great many of our compatriots, who regard opposition as a lever of pressure on the countries' powers in these hard and important days for Azerbaijan, have something to lose.

Unfortunately, we see again that the activity of local opposition bases on the absence of real knowledge about objective political situation, its reassessment of its capacities and abilities, which is called political adventurism, adhering to which our opposition tries to execute the thesis of great Oscar Wilde.
