Fazil Gazanfaroghlu: "It is necessary to adopt a law on former presidents of Azerbaijan"

The Parliament of Azerbaijan should adopt a law "On the former president" and establish the status of the former Presidents, said deputy Fazil Qazanfaroghlu at today's session of the parliament.

"We have seen off the former speaker of the parliament Murtuza Aleskerov with great respect. Yet, the former presidents are not treated with the same respect in our country and we have no law about former presidents. I think the adoption of such a law would help find a contact point between the political powers, which still adhere to an opposite position on all issues", said he.

At the same time, the deputy offered to include the issue on restoration of the proportional system of elections to the parliament to the referendum if it is held in the country.
