Head of OSCE Baku office: "OSCE is ready to support efforts of all due parties in the sphere of propaganda and human rights protection in Azerbaijan"

A two day conference on court processes, which are strategically important in the application of international standards and human rights kicked off in Baku on December 11.
According to Day.Az, the event is organized by the OSCE Baku office.

The aim of the conference is to ensure independence of courts and discuss existing problems. The event participants will discuss claims, filed to the European court of human rights against Azerbaijan and influence of decisions, adopted by the European court on the national legislation and activity of local courts.

Speaking at the conference opening, head of the OSCE Baku office, ambassador Jose Louise Herrero voiced hope that the basis of dialogue to be laid at the event, will have a practical influence on the sphere of court reforms.

"OSCE is ready to support efforts of all due sides in the sphere of propaganda and human rights protection in Azerbaijan", said Herrero.

The conference is attended by officials of Azerbaijan, judges, ombudsman, plenipotentiary representative of Azerbaijan in the European union, members of the collegium of lawyers and representatives of NGOs, functioning in the sphere of human rights protection.
