Nushirevan Meherremli: "Issue of broadcasting foreign television and radio stations on the national frequencies in Azerbaijan can be considered if there are interstate agreements"

According to Day.Az, head of the national television and radio council Nushirevan Meherremli told ANS TV channel by results of the meeting with representatives of the US Broadcasters Council and Liberty radio stations that the issue of broadcasting of foreign television and radio broadcasters on the national currencies can be considered if there are interstate contracts.

"Today TRT broadcasting in Azerbaijan is regulated by such a contract", said he.

According to Meherremli, the visitors asked to put off the issue on the half of transmission of foreign radio stations in the country and promised to raise the issue on the interstate contract in the United States.

At the same time, they noted that it is also connected with the inauguration of the new head of the United States on January 20. Meherremli said that such a decision can be considered by the members of the council, perhaps at the session on December 25, where the decision will be adopted.
