Mubariz Ahmedoghlu: "Processes in UN around Serbia and Kosovo must be a lesson for Armenians"

03 December 2008 [16:47] - TODAY.AZ
Currently processes are ongoing in the United Nations around Serbia and Kosovo, which should be primarily a lesson for Armenians, who consider that Nagorno Karabakh will once become independent, said Mubariz Ahmedoghlu, head of the center of political innovations and technologies at a press conference on the political results of November.

"The UN Security Council decided to dislocate the EU mission in Kosovo and official Belgrade agreed to it, as Serbian proposals were taken as a basis while developing the document. This means that in the future Kosovo can be divided into two parts - Serbian and Albanian.

The Serbian Foreign Minister announced that his country will join EU, preserving the territorial integrity and sovereignty. On the whole, everyone should draw a conclusion that recognition of independence of a separate subject by any state does not mean a real independence", said Ahmedoghlu.

At the same time, the political scientists listed examples of separatist Abkhazia and South Ossetia, whose independence was recognized by Russia.

He considers that even after it these subjects have not become independent and remain the parts of Russia, which needs access to the Black Sea.

"Armenians should also draw conclusions from it. Their ideas of independence will fail and, therefore, they must agree with Azerbaijan as soon as possible", said Ahmedoghlu.
