Ali Ahmadov: "Azerbaijani President does not need to discuss Nagorno Karabakh conflict with political parties"
22 November 2008 [10:33] - TODAY.AZ
"Azerbaijani President does not need to
have any discussions with the country’s political parties on the
problem of Nagorno Karabakh. There is no divergence in Azerbaijani
society concerning Nagorno Karabakh problem, everybody knows that there
is only one way for the liberation of the lands," Deputy Chairman,
Executive Secretary of New Azerbaijan Party (YAP) Ali Ahmadov told APA.
He said that Armenian President’s discussing Karabakh problem with
political parties was understandable.
"Both positions and approaches of Azerbaijan and Armenia in this
respect are different. Armenia occupied Azerbaijani territories. The
ongoing processes make it difficult for Armenia to keep the occupied
lands. Yerevan is in a dilemma whether to release the lands, or undergo
serious accusations of the world community. Maybe the discussion of
this issue in Armenia is important. Actually, peaceful solution to the
problem depends on one decisive factor, Armenia’s releasing the
occupied territories. Azerbaijan’s position is quite clear, while some
forces in Armenia understand the release of the lands, some want a part
of the territories to be released and others do not want the lands to
be released at all. Thus, Armenia needs such discussions in order to
prepare unique position," he said.
