President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to pay official visit to Iran

He said preparations for the upcoming visit of Aliyev will start after his inauguration.

"President Mahmud Ahmadinejad during his recent visit to Azerbaijan in August of the last year invited his counterpart Ilham Aliyev to pay an official visit to Tehran. Aliyev accepted this invitation. I think the preparation will start in early November by diplomatic channels and the date of the presidential visit to Iran will be defined", announced the ambassador.

He said the visit envisions several meetings of President of Azerbaijan with officials, seeing places of interests in Tehran. Several documents, reflecting cooperation between two neighbor states, are also expected to be signed.

It should be reminded that in 2005 President I.Aliyev paid an official visit to Iran during which he held several meetings with the country's leadership.
