Swedish parliamentarians to arrive in Azerbaijan

Deputies of Swedish parliament Osa Lindestam and Staffan Danielson will arrive in Azerbaijan on October 18, said honored consul of Sweden to Azerbaijan Eldar Ismaylov.
He noted that deputies are arriving in Azerbaijan within a delegation, organized by Swedish Folk och Forsvar NGO.

According to Ismaylov, deputies will meet with Azerbaijani counterparts, as well as public representatives.

The visit will end on October 21.

Meanwhile, a source from the Azerbaijani embassy to Sweden reported that ambassador of Azerbaijan Rafael Ibrahimov held a meeting with Swedish deputies, arriving in our country, prior to their visit.

According to the embassy, the purpose of the meeting is to inform the parliament members about the political and economic situation in the country, Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict and Azerbaijan's leading role in the South Caucasus region.

Along with the aforementioned deputies, the Azerbaijani ambassador also held meetings with other Swedish deputies, in particular, Carl Hamilton (Liberal Party). Meetings with other parliament members are planned for the future.

According to the embassy, regular contacts are also maintained with the Nobel's Family Society.

Two working meetings with the head and members of the Nobels family were held in the first decade of October and the meeting with representative of the Nobel's' Family Society in a broader former is planned next week.

The event will focus on informing the ancestors of the world-famed Swedish philanthropists about life in Azerbaijan today and discussing joint cultural and humanitarian projects.
