President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev receied a group of ambassadors of Muslim countries, accredited in the country, in connection with Ramadan.

According to Interfax-Azerbaijan, the due announcement was made by a source from the administration of the Azerbaijani President Wednesday.
The head of state congratulated the diplomats on the holy day of all Muslims and asked them to communicate his congratulations to the heads of the states, they represent.
The President noted that Azerbaijanis marked this holiday even in the Soviet period.
"After gaining independence Azerbaijan restored diplomatic relations with all countries, including, Muslim. Since that time our relations have been rapidly developing and are on a high level", said Aliyev.
He noted that Azerbaijan is interested in the further comprehensive development of our relations. The President highly appreciated the level of relations with Muslim countries in the framework of international organizations.
"We support each others in the international organizations and I am sure that this support is important for each country. We are successfully cooperating in the framework of the Organization for Islamic Conference and want the strengthening of the bilateral and multilateral ties between the OIC member-states and Islamic solidarity", said he.
I.Aliyev spoke for intensification of trade and economic relatons between the Muslim states.
"We should settle the problems, facing our country, and should support each others in this direction", said he.
The President called the Nagorno karabakh conflict, which recorded no progress through all these years, to be the main unsettled problem of Azerbaijan.
"Undoubtedly, this issue should be settled in the framework of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and the occupied lands should be liberated from the occupational forces", said Aliyev.
In this connection, the head of state thanked the Muslim countries, supporting the UN resolution on this conflict, adopted in March of this year, calling this support "very important".
"This proves the settlement of issues of Islamic solidarity and our Muslim brothers support Azerbaijan in the critical moments", said the President.
He noted that Azerbaijan is loyal to the principles of Islamic solidarity and it will continue this policy in the future.
In turn, Iraqi ambassador to Azerbaijan Ershad Omar Ismayil announced that owing to the accelerated development Azerbaijan has turned into the economic and cultural center of the Caucasus and the stability in our country strengthens positions of the country in the region.
"Muslim countries always support Azerbaijan in all issues", said the Iraqi diplomat, noting that this support is permanently displayed while discussing the Karabakh issue in the international arena.
The Iraqi ambassador also high appreciated the religious tolerance in Azerbaijan.
