Armenian variant for Georgia

20 August 2008 [10:01] - TODAY.AZ
Watching the recent events in Georgia, the logics and consistency of Russian occupation of Georgian territories beyond illegal separatist formation is quite obvious.

It is easy to understand that Russian powers use the Armenian variant of occupation of Azerbaijani territories (though it is clear who is a real teacher).

We know the essence from our pattern: to occupy as many lands as possible and then to trade in exchange for a status for a long time. Naturally, some will say that the world society will not allow it, that George Bush and Condoleezza Rice (locomotives of this confrontation) have personally notified the Russian leadership, that the European Union (subsidiary carriages), in the person of Nicholas Sarkozy, has threatened to convene an urgent session. Yes, it is true. But whether it will influence Vladimir Putin for him to influence Medvedev is a real point.

Elections in the United States will be held in US in November. Do you think the Kremlin fellows will not be able to protract the game and then see what happens? For example, to withdraw five tanks and then enter six tanks instead? And then argue on this issue for a week, referring to the lie of Georgian mass media. It won't be difficult to state that there is  a Georgian wedding in Gori, therefore, they have surrounded the city and do not allow anyone in order not to spoil the day.

It won't be difficult to state spread of cholera, plague or atypical pneumonia and declare quarantine in the city, thus explaining the fact that journalists and observers can not be allowed in for their own security.

It won't be difficult to state that it is Georgians who explode pipelines, gas pipelines, transiting their territories and then asked what Georgians need it for, to answer: "This is Africa and they are savage!".

Hearing the absolutely blatant lie of the Russian agitation propaganda, it would be naive to be surprised in this situation.

Haven't we been told that the whole Tskhinvali is filled with corpses (2,000 people)and the entire city has been ruined. And then it became clear that only 44 corpses were revealed and each tenth house had been ruined, though it is not a small number.

Within these three months Europe would hardly find any other energy sources to break ties with Russia.

The most unpleasant in this situation that it is hard to imagine our future. It is clear that nothing positive is expected. We can only guess about the extend of negativeness.

This is really the first and the most brutal act of aggression without any sensible references to international law.

Someone can list the example of Iraq, Yugoslavia or Kosovo to oppose me, which is usually used by almost all Russian official and unofficial persons.

Tens of resolutions were adopted on Iraq. Tens of resolutions were adopted on Yugoslavia. Iran was in economic blockade by the UN resolution with the further notification of use of force. Yugoslavia was even on the verge of being expelled from the OSCE. As for Kosovo, there was the UN administration and Americans or French or even Albanians did not issue their passports to Kosovo residents.

These actions have nothing to do with the international law. This is a simple and brutal occupation. If in the near future Russian troops do not leave Georgia, it will be protracted and the further reaction will not be so sharp, the new (for example Zhitomir) OSCE Minsk Group will be created and it will protracted for years. In such a situation, the South Caucasus will be hit with wars and conflicts and, as a result, all its residents will have an absolutely hopeless geopolitical future.

Naturally, I expect the immediate reaction of the local fifth column with numerous articles either founded or groundless with "details" of the personal life of all those, who do not agree to live in the geopolitical trap, set by people, whose empire ambitions have stepped beyond the acceptable limit.
