President of Azerbaijan to be nominated as official candidate for presidency

The session will involve over 600 delegates and representatives of other parties. The session of the party will be held at the sport and concert complex of Heydar Aliyev.

As is was previously reported by deputy executive secretary of the Yeni Azerbaijan Party Mubariz Qurbanly, conferences of local organizations of the party have been successfully completed on the spots.

"Currently, serious preparations are carried out for the forthcoming presidential elections in the local bodies of the party", added Qurbanly.

The presidential elections will be held in Azerbaijan on October 15 of this year.

"The main issue at the session will be nomination of the candidacy of the Yeni Azerbaijan party chairman and working president of the country Ilham Aliyev", said he adding that if other proposals are made at the session, they will be considered.

Deputy executive secretary noted that each party member will take an active part for the victory of the party candidate.

Qurbanly also noted that a political bloc will not be created around the candidate of the party.

"Since 1993 our party has been actively participating in all elections, held in the country and it has sufficient resources to ensure the victory of its candidate", announced he.

"Naturally, the candidate from our party is supported by various sociopolitical organizations. We are welcoming it and we will cooperate with them, coordinating the activity. Moreover, the Yeni Azerbaijan party has no experience of participating in political blocs", noted the deputy executive secretary stating inexpediency of creation of a special political bloc.

Yeni Azerbaijan ruling party was founded in 1992.It came to power in 1993. Currently, it is chaired by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
