Special representative of OSCE chairman: "Azerbaijani authorities wish to hold much better elections"

Everyone should realize that the main task of the OSCE is assessment of the conducted elections, said special representative of the OSCE chairman-in-office Heikki Talvitie at a press conference by results of the visit to Azerbaijan.
He noted that anyway it is the citizens of Azerbaijan that will vote.

"For us it is important that Azerbaijani authorities wish to hold much better elections and that dynamics of this process development is higher as compared to the previous elections", said Talvitie.

He noted that he had meetings with Baku mayor, leadership of the Baku police department and discussed the way the meetings should be held.

He said the OSCE Baku office may initiate discussions between the ruling and opposition parties about the sites, which might be allocated for actions.
